My 10 y.o. daughter has the Kura bed from Ikea ($179), which is reversible and has a tent to go over the top. It’s set up like a loft bed right now with cube storage organizers underneath, which gives her somewhere to play/hide. I also installed a rope light under the bed for her and put Lego tape on the edge of it for all of her mini figs. If you’re looking for a less expensive option, this one is great!

    • Gscribble

Yes! We are waiting for it to be ok enough to go to ikea again to get one for our son. Otherwise, the price is double because of shipping 🙄

      • MommySpendsLess

I’m eagerly waiting for Ikea to open too! I get my annual bonus and tax return around the same time and I wanted to make sure both were what I expected before making any large purchases. Long story short, I was ready to upgrade/update my living room with a new rug and new couch right about the time things started shutting down. Ironically when/because we would have enjoyed the upgrades the most we weren’t able to make them.

oh well im turing nine im exited i think 2nd one at top for a nine yr old and a two yr old au

    • Gscribble

There are also a ton of ideas for it on Pinterest!

We had a dollhouse bunk bed that my daughter has sadly outgrown, but kids always had fun with it when they come over and beg their parents for a similar bed. The disc o bed is great for camping and lounging. We have the adult version which can be set up as a couch; perfect for camping

Love the look of bunk beds. We’ve had 3,one traditional, one with a single & double with drawers. And now a double double with drawers. I HATE changing sheets. Any tricks to make it easier?

    • jen s.

I DON’T miss the days of changing top bunk sheets!!!! My cat would try to get in on the action on the bunk below trying to attack my fingers!

    • Gramma C

Make the bed with extra fitted sheets on and just take off the dirty ones and you’re all set with next one.

    “ A mere $3400 “ for the Murphy Bed?!

  5. TinaBee

Bunk beds are hard to make. Making the bed is a major hardship. If you have a ceiling fan and are considering a bunk bed, pay attention to its assembled height. I have a 9’ ft ceiling and when my child was laying in the top bunk, if he sat up, his face was at the same level as the blades of the ceiling fan. It wasn’t safe.
