“I’m seriously wondering if I’m just not the “norm” when it comes to these MotionSense faucets because the reviews aren’t as bad as I thought they’d be.
Here’s why I quickly fell out of love with this faucet – whenever I go to grab a sponge or the dish soap from my sink, the faucet will turn on and soak whatever shirt I’m wearing. I get that it’s due to the motion sensor but I find it annoying that I can’t grab items to wash my dishes without getting wet (unless I remember about the motion sense and grab my items in an awkward way – but that rarely happens!).
In addition, the water will turn on unexpectedly – when we’re not even near the sink if it senses something as little as a speck of dust.
I just think this faucet is a waste of money and water… and honestly would never opt to buy a faucet with a motion sense feature again. I personally would rather just turn the faucet on myself and have more control over when the water comes out.”

We have a touch faucet and can’t go back to a regular faucet 🙂 It’s so convenient when you have dirty hands, or hands full of dishes, or a pot to fill. We are moving and have already purchased the faucet we’ll be installing in the new kitchen as a “DAY ONE MUST DO”. One con is, when we go anywhere else, all of us are touching the faucets to turn them on, even when they don’t operate that way. We’re conditioned!! Haha…
But yes, I agree. The motion activated ones are probably best suited for commercial situations, and bathrooms. I can just imagine how much water my cats would waste playing with them at night.

We have a touch faucet too! Absolutely love! And yes we do the same thing at other people’s houses now too! I looked at the motion sensor ones but I get frustrated enough when I go to a bathroom sink at places and some of them don’t work so I felt the touch would do better and luckily it does!
We just installed the Kraus in our new kitchen & I love it. So sleek & modern looking. I love that I can wash the corners of my single-bowl sink with it. I highly recommend.

We have the Samsung family hub and love it. No issues what so ever in the year and a half we’ve had it.
I wonder which one would go best with my vintage kitchen. We are putting in my grandmothers old farmhouse sink we found in her barn. After cleaning it it is awesome. Not a mark on it guess cause it was covered with straw. LOL but we now need fawcetts for it.

We have the kholer one featered and have had it for two years I never had any idea one could love a faucet so much but it is one of the most loved things I have ever bought in my life ( and I have bought a lot ) it is worth every penny it reminds me of the sprayers they have in restaurants the way it sprays off food

I had a motion sensor faucet in a different brand and it went off all the time and got many sleeves wet. I hated it! We were so glad to sell the house and move out. I’ll never buy one again! Totally agree with you!

We have all Pfister faucets in our house. I order from the actual Pfister site and not from Amazon. Much better quality. When you buy from Lowes or Home Depot, you are getting a lower tier faucet that contains much more plastic. The original faucet will be all brass and steel. Will cost more up front but can last a lifetime.

We have the Brizo – Artesso Series – Kitchen Faucet – Single Handle Pull-Down With Smarttouch – – Venetian Bronze and I am in love with it. It was not cheap but it is well made and I love using it especially when I am cooking messy food like making meatballs. Highly recommend this one.

I have had both the kohler and moen motion sense faucets and I love the moen one. The sensor you are complaining about being touchy is the front sensor, which you can (and should) disable. This means you just use the top sensor which requires you to wave your hand above the faucet so no more oops water all over.
The Kohler motion sense faucet has a sensor under the curve of the faucet which is a really bad place. It is always triggered by steam in the sink from say hot noodles placed into a colander. The only good thing about the Kohler is you can use the above the sink handle to adjust the water temperature. With the moen you adjust the automatic temperature under the sink, but alternatively you can still use the handle above like normal.
After having used each for over a year the sensor has to be on top of the faucet to not be annoying. The other advantage of having the sensor visible on the top is people (house guests) can see the sensor and they learn more quickly how to activate the sink. Since Kohler tried to hide the sensor people don’t understand.
